She feels powerful after testifying and assisting in the arrest of the attacker. David, the attacker, was sentenced in 2016 to life in prison without parole.

Chapa was sexually assaulted, and the following day a couple discovered the bodies of the two women in knee-high grass near a scenic lookout in the park. Mollie Olgin was announced dead at the scene.
On the other hand, Chapa was knocked out and brought to a local hospital, where she ultimately recovered consciousness.

In 2017, Chap filed a new lawsuit against David Strickland, which caused his millionaire father the loss $500 million. The complaint his parents are later dropped from the suit.
