Trent Digiuro died immediately after being shot by a .243 rifle. 

Trent DiGiuro was supposed to be the starting offensive lineman for his college football team, the Kentucky Wildcats, in 1994.

However, DiGiuro was tragically murdered shortly before his senior season.

For years, no one knew who killed DiGiuro. Until the murderer’s ex-girlfriend spoke out.

The case became stalled once more, and six years later, the police received a call from a local attorney with information about the case.

According to the attorney, his client, Aimee Lloyd dated Shane Ragland, a 26-year-old computer programmer from Frankfort, Kentucky.

Aimee stated that she and Shane had been drinking at a bar and discussing the worst things they’d ever done. Shane, she claimed, confessed to shooting Trent.

Shane Ragland, the alleged murderer, also traveled to the United Kingdom.

According to NBC News, Ragland blamed the Kentucky football player for him “being blackballed from a fraternity.”

Evans then met with the woman to plan a sting operation.

According to NBC News, Ragland stated, “I regret it.”

Killer Shane Ragland-What Happened To Him? 

According to NBC, Ragland was eventually apprehended and charged with murder.

He was initially convicted of murder with intent. Ragland was then convicted and sentenced to 30 years in prison.

However, according to the Courier-Journal, Ragland’s conviction was later overturned because an FBI bullet analyst lied during a pretrial conference.

Ragland subsequently pled guilty to second-degree manslaughter. According to the Courier-Journal, he was released in 2007.

As of now, there are no details about Shane, as he has become anonymous. 

Shane was released in 2007, and since then there has been no news about him, or where he could be.

Trent DiGiuro, a football player at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, worked hard to get to where he was.

He decided to try out for the team as a walk-on but quickly worked his way up to a starting spot.

He loved football and being with his friends. He was described as a large teddy bear who protected his friend group.

Trent DiGiuro began his Kentucky career as a walk-on in 1991, according to the university’s website.

DiGiuro finished spring practice as Kentucky’s starting right guard in 1994.

According to UK’s website, he even set the team record for bench press during the offseason. 

He was coming off a year in which he earned SEC Academic Honor Roll honors.

However, before he could establish anything with his life, it was ended due to a small reason of thinking by Shane Ragland. 

His family and friends have suffered a lot because of his death, and they might never forget him.
